What is Snap Score? and How it Works?

Snapshot is one of the most famous social media platforms that has its own unique way of interacting with others. One of the most important features of Snapchat is its snaps score, which is determined by a number of things such as the snaps that you have sent and received, and the stories that you have posted to Snapchat, along with other things. All of these factors combined to calculate your snap score which can be quite ambiguous. In this article, we’re going to talk to you about all of the factors and methods that can affect your snap score significantly.

What is Snap Score
What is Snap Score? How it Works

Before we get started, it is important to have a clear idea of the snap score. As the official snapped chat website suggests, it is a calculation of all of your combined activity on Snapchat. This can include the number of friends that you have on Snapchat, the number of snaps that you have sent, and more. You can find your or anyone’s Snapchat score on their respective profile as long as you have them added.

Find your Snapchat Score

While Snapchat is secretive about the formula behind the calculation of snap score, you can find your snap score on your Snapchat profile. We are going to show you how to do this down below. You can use the same process for anyone else as long as they’re on your friends’ list. With that said, let us get started and show you how to check your snap score.

  1. First of all, go ahead and open up the Snapchat application.
  2. With the application open, head to your profile page.
  3. You will be able to see your snap score right under your name along with your zodiac sign.

  4. If you tap on your snap score, a new dialog box will appear. On the dialog box, you will be shown the number of snaps that you have sent followed by the number of snaps that have been sent to you. In case both of these numbers do not sum up to the total snap score, don’t be surprised. We will explain this further down below.

Finding someone else’s snap score is pretty much the same as well. Simply, head to their profile and you will be able to see their snap score right under their name. However, if you don’t see their snap score, it is either because they are not on your friend lists or they have blocked you

Snap Score Calculation

You might have noticed that the number of snaps that you have sent and the number of snaps that you have received do not equal your total Snapchat score. Rather your snap score is usually greater than the sum of the snaps that you have sent and received. If you’re wondering why this is, there’s a simple explanation. This is because, as we have mentioned before, your snap score is not only the sum of the snaps that you have sent and received, rather there are other factors that come into play as well. Such as the number of friends that you have on Snapchat and the stories that you post. All of these things affect your snap score and cause it to increase.

Increase your Snap Score

By now it is pretty obvious that in order to increase your snap score, you’ll have to be more active on the Snapchat application. This means that you’ll have to send more snaps to your friends, add more people that you know in your social network to your friend lists, and post stories more frequently.

All of these things will factor in your snap score calculation which is a formula not revealed by Snapchat, unfortunately. From what we have tested, snaps that you sent in chats can affect your snap score as well. Snap score can go up by one or two per snap, but this can be different for different users as the formula for calculating Snap score is not known.

It is also important to mention that there are third-party services that promise to increase your Snap score by crazy amounts. However, we wouldn’t recommend going with those services if you wish to increase your snap score as most of them tend to be just a scam. Therefore, if you want your snap score to increase, just be more active on the app, and you’ll see your snap score increasing day by day.
