Samsung’s Upcoming S24 Flagship Battery Specifications Leaked
Now that we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, we can focus on the company’s next big launch: the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S24+ (SM-S926) and S24 Ultra (SM-S928) have just been listed in several online databases, exposing many important details about upcoming devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to debut in the first half of 2024. The South Korean tech giant is widely anticipated to release three premium Android smartphone variants across all international markets. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are all possible family members. Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S-series flagship phones have yet to be released, and any leaks are adding to the hype.
Both the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra have had their battery capacities verified by Dekra, the certification body. Let’s examine the information that has been made public about these devices and what Samsung has improved over time.
Larger Battery than its Predecessor
The Galaxy S24+ and the Ultra may have larger batteries than their predecessors. A Dekra certification listing has disclosed the relevant specifics. As stated on the official website, the Galaxy S24+ uses a battery with the model number EB-BS926ABY.
The official capacity of the battery is 4755mAh. The Galaxy S23+’s battery clocked in at 4700mAh. This indicates that the next Galaxy S24+ will include a slightly larger battery than its predecessor. Samsung might advertise the average battery as having a 4900mAh or 5000mAh capacity.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is advertised as having a 4855mAh battery, which could translate to an actual capacity of around 5100mAh. In comparison, the Galaxy S23 Ultra had a 5000mAh battery. Consequently, the rumored Galaxy S24 Ultra may include a larger battery than the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
S24 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
A chipset with the codename “pineapple” has been spotted in the S24+’s Geekbench listing, leading some to believe it is the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The listing states a 3.30 GHz primary core, 3.15 GHz secondary cores, 2.96 GHz secondary cores, and 2.27 GHz secondary cores. The listing also reveals the GPU is an Adreno 750. The gadget received a single-core score of 2,233 and a multi-core score of 6,661. The only other information provided is that the handset runs Android 14 and has 8GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra most likely have the same processor. Other high-end smartphones that are speculated to use the same chip include the Xiaomi 14, the Vivo X100 Pro+, the OnePlus 12, the iQOO 12 series, and others.
Additional information on the Galaxy S24 series has also been revealed. For the Galaxy S24 range, Samsung is considering using a titanium body. The Galaxy S24+ is speculated to have a 6.65-inch AMOLED screen, making it somewhat larger than the Galaxy S23+’s display.
On the other side, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will include a 144Hz QHD+ AMOLED screen. If this happens, it will be the first time a Galaxy S flagship has used a 144Hz display. The Ultra model’s exact screen resolution is yet unclear. The 6.8-inch screen is the standard size with which Samsung introduces its Ultra devices.
Reports also suggest that the 200MP sensor in the Galaxy S24 Ultra is an upgrade above the one in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Soon, we should learn more about Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S series flagship phones.
