Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Live Images Leaked Ahead of Unpacked

Samsung Unpacked is just two weeks away, and there are rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be unveiled at the event. There have been a lot of back and forth talk on what the phone will offer, what tech is used, but till the launch, there is no way to know for sure.

However, some live images of the Fold 5 have recently been leaked online. It is important to note that it is common practice for manufacturers to create dummy devices for the sake of public attention, but these images look legitimate. (The leaker has no proven track record of accurate leaks, but the images do match up with previous renders.)

The live images show a device that is very similar to the previous renders. It has the model number WEC0696M on the front, back, and top, and it is clearly a testing sample. A sticker on the back says “CONFIDENTIAL (Unauthorized Use Prohibited), No Photo Allowed, Not for Sale, Do not leak info.

It seems that the leaker ignored all of these warnings and took the images anyway. (Perhaps they thought that no one would believe a leak without a “confidential” sticker on it.) The images do not reveal any information about the internals of the Fold 5, but they do showcase the physical design.

The Fold 5 has a similar design to the Fold 4, but there are some subtle differences. The hinge appears to be slightly narrower, and the camera housing is a bit smaller. We can also see the flash moving from the bottom of the camera to the side to accommodate this smaller housing.

This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
