Fix: Embark Game Boot Fatal Error (Detected Software) ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders does not reach the game when Embark Game Boot stops with a fatal error. The large heading identifies where startup stopped. The smaller line identifies why.

• Detected Software means the anti-cheat rejected a running process.
• Failed to install EasyAntiCheat means the EAC service or driver could not be prepared.

Both faults appear in the same window, although they need different repairs.

1. An AutoHotkey-based utility can trigger the first message.
2. A locked EAC file, another anti-cheat process, or an incomplete service installation can trigger the second.

If ARC Raiders reaches its menu and crashes later, use the separate ARC Raiders crashing and freezing guide. The checks here are for failures inside Embark Game Boot or Easy Anti-Cheat.

1. Check and Close the Program Named by Embark Game Boot

The game fails when EAC sees a disallowed process running. A Detected Software message is not about every program installed on the PC. Embark says the window should show the relevant file path, so that name is more useful than a generic list of overlays.

1. Photograph or write down the full message, file path, and any ARAV code before closing the window.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, then open Details.
3. Find the executable shown in the error and select End task. Also close other running games and their anti-cheat launchers.
4. If the message names AutoHotkey, an auto-clicker, NVIDIA Profile Inspector, a script, macro tool, VM, injector, or custom overlay, close that tool completely.
5. Launch ARC Raiders before reopening any tray utilities. If the program returns automatically, disable its startup entry or update the legitimate utility to a version that no longer uses the flagged component.

Embark’s Detected Software guidance confirms that a program is not flagged unless its process is active.

Its ARAV code list identifies the common named tools and security failures.

If the game opens now, update or remove only the identified program. If the popup changes to Failed to install EasyAntiCheat, continue below with EAC repair. When no program is named, Method 4 provides a controlled clean-boot test.

2. Repair Easy Anti-Cheat from the ARC Raiders Installer Folder

Failed to install EasyAntiCheat means the required Windows service did not install or start. ARC Raiders includes its own scripts. Running them as administrator rebuilds the service registration without replacing the whole game.

1. Restart Windows first. This also clears Error 30005 when another program is holding an EAC file open.
2. Open Steam > Library, right-click ARC Raiders, and select Manage > Browse local files.
3. Open the Installers folder.
4. Right-click the EAC uninstaller batch file and select Run as administrator.
5. When it finishes, right-click the EAC installer batch file and run that as administrator as well.
6. Restart the PC, open Steam normally, and launch ARC Raiders before starting another anti-cheat-protected game.

Some installations also expose EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe, shown below. If it only flashes and closes, do not assume the repair succeeded; use the two ARC Raiders batch files in Installers.

If Error 30005 returns after a clean restart, check the antivirus quarantine and add narrow exclusions for the ARC Raiders install folder and C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS\EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe. Do not switch off the whole antivirus.

If ARC Raiders opens after the scripts run, the EAC registration was incomplete. If the same installation message remains and nothing is quarantined, continue below with Steam verification.

3. Verify the ARC Raiders Installation in Steam

Installation verification is relevant when a script, manifest, or game file is missing. Steam replaces those files because the EAC scripts can only work with the package already on disk. Embark associates ARAV codes ending in 005, 006, or 007 with these failures.

1. Open Steam > Library.
   
2. Right-click ARC Raiders and select Properties.
   
3. Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
   
4. Wait for Steam to finish downloading replacements.
5. If Steam restores anything inside Installers, run the EAC uninstall and install batch files from Method 2 once more, then restart.

This verification is not needed when the popup clearly names an active program and closes as soon as that program stops.

If verification replaces files and the game opens, the installation was incomplete. If Steam finds no problem and the same ARAV or software message remains, continue below with the Windows checks.

4. Reinstall ARC Raiders Normally, Then Send Embark the Exact Error

A complete reinstall is reasonable only after Steam verification and the EAC scripts fail. A normal Steam reinstall restores the ARC Raiders package without asking a third-party cleaner to select shared Easy Anti-Cheat files or registry entries.

1. In Steam, right-click ARC Raiders > Manage > Uninstall.
2. Restart Windows, then reinstall the game through Steam.
3. Verify the fresh installation once and run the two EAC batch files from Arc Raiders\Installers as administrator.
4. Test before reopening macro, monitoring, overclocking, or overlay tools.
5. If the same popup remains, sign in to Embark Support and include the full second line, SID, TID, ARAV or EAC code, named file path, Windows version, and the result of both installer scripts.

Do not use a reinstall while the popup still names an active program; removing the game cannot stop that process.

If the reinstall works, stop before removing shared EAC files. If the same code returns, keep the fresh installation in place and let Embark review the submitted SID and TID; there is no local rollback needed.
