How to Fix Error Code: 2(-998) in Hulu?

The Hulu error code 2(-998) is a temporary error that appears while streaming content on the device. Error Code: 2(-998)”.

  • Internet Connection: A slow or unstable internet connection is the most common reason for the error. If your internet connection is not working correctly, Hulu won’t be able to stream content and start showing errors. Check your internet connection speed or switch to a different connection.
  • Server Issue: Another possible reason is the Hulu server is down and not working correctly. In this case, checking the server status is recommended.
  • Device problems: The device’s internal glitches start causing problems and stop the app from functioning correctly. Restarting the device may work for you to solve the problem.
  • Corrupted Cache data: Every app store cache, and this stored cache gets corrupted with time. If the Hulu app cache data gets corrupted, it stops the app from establishing a connection with the device and stops it from streaming content. Clearing the app cache may work for you.

DNS cache refers to the temporary information storage about the previous DNS on the operating system or the web browser. To remove the DNS cache, follow the steps given:

  1. Click on the Start icon and search for Command Prompt in the search bar.
  2. Launch the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns, and hit enter.

5. Clear Hulu App Cache

5.1 Android Phone

  1. Tap on the Settings icon, scroll down and search for the Applications option.
  2. Now in the applications window, search for Hulu and tap on it.
  3. Then tap the Clear Cache button to clear the application’s cache files.

  1. Open your TV from the home screen menu, launch the Settings

  6. Wait for the process to finish and launch the Hulu.

6. Power Cycle Your App

If clearing the cache won’t work, power cycling the Hulu app may work in your case. Many users reported this works for them to fix Hulu error code 2- 998. To power cycle your Hulu app follows the steps given:

  1. Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc key to launch the task manager
  2. Now look for the Hulu app and right click on it, and choose End task

  6. Launch the Microsoft Store and search for the Hulu app
