Square Enix To Release a Playable Demo of Final Fantasy 16 Before Game’s Official Release
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16 has been making headlines again, most recently being yesterday when game’s producer Yoshi-P and director Hiroshi Takai revealed in an interview that Final Fantasy 16’s development has reached the 95% mark and more details about the game were speculated to be announced soon with this new information in mind but when he was asked about an official release date he stated;
We plan to release the information again later this year, so I think we can say it at that time.”
However, in an interview with Dengeki Online today, Yoshi-P confirmed that a demo for the upcoming Final Fantasy 16 is making its way to release before the game’s release next year.
A couple of weeks ago, an ambition trailer for Final Fantasy 16 was released, and a Summer 2023 release window was revealed for the game at the end of the trailer.
So if we put together all the bits and pieces we have seen and learned so far, it will be safe to say that an official release date for Final Fantasy 16 could be revealed next month, keeping in mind the statements Yoshi-P made in the interviews about it being announced later this year.
Interestingly, next month on December 8th, The Game Awards are also there to provide a platform for most anticipated games like Final Fantasy 16 to reveal stuff. However, it should be noted that there is no official confirmation or statement by the studio that hints towards a release date reveal at The Game Awards 2022, so you should take this one with a grain of salt.
And as far as the playable demo for the game is concerned, then that will for sure be a sight for Final Fantasy fans, and it will definitely take the hype of the game to new highs.
After getting an official reveal at Sony’s PlayStation 5 showcase in September 2020 with a four-minute trailer, fans have been impatiently waiting for Final Fantasy 16 to come out.
It will be the franchise’s first mainline entry in over seven years. So the hype around the title is justified. Final Fantasy games are known for their intriguing storyline with cinematic cutscenes tangled with action-packed gameplay, and Square Enix is considering the same approach with Final Fantasy 16. The final Fantasy franchise is regarded as one of the best video game franchises around the globe.
With its long-standing games, the love for the franchise has just increased over the years. It would not be an exaggeration to call the franchise a groundbreaking commercial success, primarily after it has managed to sell over 173 million games worldwide.
Final Fantasy 16 is slated for a Summer 2023 release exclusively for PlayStation 5. What are your thoughts about the game getting a playable demo before its official release? Are you excited to play that? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
