You Can Now Have Your Zoom Meetings At Your Nearest AMC Cinema

For those times when you really need your meeting to make an impression, AMC is collaborating with Zoom to transform some of its movie theatres into enormous videoconferencing venues for 75 to 150 people. As an added bonus, AMC will also provide “food and beverage services, potential movie previews, and concierge-style tailored handling of meeting requirements.

The press statement says that at least 17 AMC theatres throughout the country will start using Zoom sometime in 2023 to enable conference calls between “small, medium, and large-sized groups from various locations.”

As hybrid work has become more commonplace throughout the United States, Zoom Rooms at AMC will enable companies and other entities with decentralized workforces and customer bases to bring people from different markets together at the same time for cohesive virtual and in-person events and meeting experiences,”

-AMC

According to the theatre chain, businesses may reserve theatres nationwide online when arranging a meeting so that their workers can have a similar experience over the phone. AMC and Zoom will provide “the necessary equipment for a fully functional Zoom Rooms experience” when you reserve the service. You will get a three-hour block at whatever cinemas you want.

Providing a “centrally located venue” in places that aren’t necessary close to your company’s headquarters, the move is positioned in the news release as a tool to connect remote employees. The collaboration makes sense from a commercial standpoint since it enables AMC to profit from theatres that may have been idle throughout the day.

One of the lessons learned during the pandemic when so many of us were forced to work remotely was the importance of a reliable, dynamic communications platform

We also learned that even though we may be spread far apart, the ability to come together in person is as important as ever. That is why I’m so excited about this AMC partnership with Zoom.”

-AMC CEO Adam Aron

On Wednesday, AMC Theatres releases its third quarter results. Aron spoke of a worse box office result for the quarter owing to the slowdown in broad releases on the company’s most recent earnings call, but he remained upbeat about the fourth quarter and 2023. This initiative, which seems to be promising, will undoubtedly increase the methods the business may generate revenue.
