This achievement is even more impressive when we compare it to its predecessor, as Street Fighter 5 took around three months to reach 1.4 million sales. It’s clear that Street Fighter 6 has struck a resounding chord with fans of the fighting genre, and its explosive popularity shows no signs of slowing down.

Furthermore, Street Fighter 6 has gone on to obliterate the concurrent player records on Steam for all significant fighting game franchises, including Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and its own predecessors. The game reached an impressive peak of 70,573 concurrent players on Steam, smashing the previous record held by Mortal Kombat 11, which maxed out at 35,147 players.

Even the esteemed Tekken franchise pales in comparison, with its most recent entry, Tekken 7, only managing to muster an all-time high of 18,966 concurrent players on Steam. It’s undeniable that Street Fighter 6 has cemented itself as the reigning champion of the fighting game genre, leaving its competitors in the dust.

Yet, the success of Street Fighter 6 extends beyond its commercial triumphs. Critics and fans alike have hailed the game as a masterpiece. At the time of writing, Street Fighter 6 boasts an impressive average critic score of 91.3 on Metacritic, coupled with an average user score of 5.8 across platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC

The game has also received an outstanding Mighty rating on OpenCritic, with critics recommended score of 98%. With such overwhelming praise from both professionals and gamers, Street Fighter 6 has undoubtedly achieved both critical and commercial success.
