However, streaming Disney Plus on Discord can be tricky, as most users report only seeing a black screen on Discord when streaming Disney Plus to their Discord buddies. This happens due to a system put in place by Disney to protect their copyright, preventing people from recording or streaming their content for free.

Fortunately, this copyright protection can easily be overcome using some simple fixes. To assist you in setting up your Disney Plus stream and resolving the black screen issue, this guide will demonstrate how to stream Disney Plus on Discord.

How to Stream Disney Plus on Discord

Before we dive into the solutions for the black screen issue, let’s go over the process of setting up the Disney Plus stream itself. Most users set up the stream incorrectly in the first place, which leads to audio and visual issues that are unrelated to the copyright protection of Disney+.

If you simply click on the “Share Your Screen” option and select the browser window that has Disney Plus playing, you are not setting up the stream correctly.

To avoid any audio issues, you must first add your browser as a registered game in your Discord app. Follow the steps listed below to do so:

  1. Open any browser of your choice and log in to Disney Plus.
  2. Open Discord and click on the gear icon in the bottom-left corner of the window (next to your username).

How to Fix the Black Screen Issue When Streaming Disney Plus on Discord.

Now, once you have your stream up and running, the black screen issue will likely occur. This is a very common video issue that people encounter when streaming Disney Plus, Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services on Discord due to copyright protection. Fortunately, it can be solved easily by disabling Hardware Acceleration on both Discord and the browser you’re using, and by tweaking a few other Discord settings.

Please note that disabling hardware acceleration may cause your stream to lag if your system’s hardware is weak.

To disable Hardware Acceleration on Discord, follow these steps:

  1. Open Discord Settings.
  2. In the App Settings category, select the “Voice and Video” option.
  3. Scroll down to the Video Codec section.
  4. Disable both Hardware Acceleration and the OpenH264 Video Codec options.

Once hardware acceleration is disabled on both apps, restart the stream, and you should no longer encounter the black screen issue on your Discord stream. However, if the issue persists, then the problem is likely related to your browser itself.

In this case, you can easily overcome this issue by installing Mozilla Firefox. This browser allows you to stream any type of video on Discord without encountering a black screen or other visual problems.
