Upgrade Your Steam Deck Screen Quality With This Aftermarket Accessory
Would you like to improve the quality of the display on your Steam Deck? It appears that FX Technology, better known as F(x)tec, has plans to market screen improvements for Steam Deck under the DeckHD name.
The screen resolution on all three Steam Deck variants is 1280×800, and the premium Steam Deck features an anti-glare covering. What if we switched it out with a high-resolution, anti-glare 1920×1200 display? They intend to do exactly that. In addition, they state that their screen will provide more accurate colors than the original Steam Deck screen (which only covered 45% of the AdobeRGB color space).
You may sign up for a waitlist on their site if you’re interested in purchasing it whenever it becomes available, and it will likely cost approximately $99.
An intriguing concept, though it’s important to keep in mind that there’ll be a price to pay for the additional power required to support a higher display resolution. Some of the most recent AAA titles struggle to run at the native 800p of the Steam Deck’s current display. This feature could be useful, however, for games that aren’t the latest 3D AAA releases.
Recently, Asus revealed the competitor of Steam Deck, its ROG Ally. The ROG Ally left the Steam deck by a huge margin in terms of its display which is 1080p. This mod targets the specific audience that might leave the steam deck just for the display. Do let us know what you think about this in the comments down below.
