Publisher Meridiem Games has just officially confirmed that Silent Hill 2 Remake will make its way to PS5 in 2024. Looking back, it’s almost been a year since Konami decided to revive the Silent Hill franchise, and bring it back from the dead.
We saw how numerous new Silent Hill projects were announced including Silent Hill f and Silent Hill Townfall. However, it was the remake of Konami’s 2001 masterpiece that undeniably stole the spotlight. For quite some time after the announcement, there had been no official word on the game’s release date.
Naturally, there were all sorts of speculations based on the statement made by Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, who described the game as “technically ready” in March ’23, but the general consensus was that the game would release sometime in 2024.
Since the official announcement, there hasn’t been a lot in terms of trailers or teasers as to what the game will potentially feature. All we can say is that even after 20 years, the game is still regarded as one of the best horror titles of all time. Sure, Akira Yamaoka‘s music, coupled with series producer Motoi Okamoto’s ‘true psychological horror’ will be interesting to watch, but we’ll have to wait until the game officially comes out before jumping onto any conclusions.
Silent Hill 2 is Available to Pre-Order, Physical PS5 Release Confirmed
The game is confirmed to have a PS5 physical release, and the game is now available to pre-order, coming in at $69.99 and CA$89.99.
Silent Hill 2 will exclusively be available for PS5 and PC. The pre-orders being live sure hint at a release date announcement by Konami soon. This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
