Nintendo Continues to Bring Classics to Life, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Reportedly Being Remastered
Nintendo Keeps the Remasters Coming, First Metroid Prime and Now Paper Mario TTYD?
Recently, rumors have sparked speculation about what the next Mario game could be. Well, it seems as if it may be the remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
According to a post on Famiboards by PikminSnezkov, who claims to have insider information from employees at Intelligent Systems (developer of Paper Mario), the game is currently in development and is expected to be the next title released following The Origami King.
PikminSnezkov has contacted three sources via LinkedIn, two of whom have confirmed that a remaster of The Thousand Year Door is indeed in the works. While the release date has been provided by these two sources, the user is waiting for confirmation from the third source before making the information public.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004 and is widely considered one of the best games in the Paper Mario series. The game follows Mario as he searches for the Crystal Stars to unlock the Thousand-Year Door, which leads to the treasure of the ancient city of Rogueport.
As of now, there has been no official announcement from Nintendo or Intelligent Systems regarding the remaster. However, the insider information provided by PikminSnezkov seems credible and as time goes more, more information is expected to be uncovered.
It’s clear that Nintendo wants to bring their classic games to modern audiences, and fans can expect to see even more remastered titles in the future. From their actions, it’s clear that they want gamers today to see what the peak Nintendo, and its fanbase was like. We’ve already seen that with the Metroid Prime Remaster earlier this year.
If the rumors are true, the remaster would surely be one of the biggest games from Intelligent Systems as the original Paper Mario series had a fanbase of its own. As we wait for the official release date, make sure to check back as we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
