Fix: “No applicable app licenses found” Minecraft Launcher Error

Repair and Update the Microsoft Store App

This method was suggested by an independent advisor on the Microsoft forum, and so far has worked for almost all the users who were facing the ‘No applicable app licenses found’ issue with Minecraft launcher.

In this method, we will first install the pending Windows updates, reset the Microsoft Store and Minecraft launcher, clear cache, and update the Microsoft Store application.

Here is all that you need to do:

1. Install Pending Updates

It is usually your outdated operating system components that are causing issues like the one at hand, which is why the first step towards fixing the error is installing the pending updates.

The latest updates are packed with new features and bug fixes so should help you fix the issue in no time.

Follow these steps to install the pending updates on your PC:

  1. Launch Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I keys simultaneously. 
  2. Click on Updates & Security from the context menu available on your screen.

  3. Select Windows Update from the left panel and then click on Check for updates in the right pane.

  4. If the system shows any pending updates that need to be installed, install them one by one. 
  5. Once done, restart your PC and check if the issue is resolved. 

If the error persists, proceed with the next method below.

2. Log Out of Xbox and Microsoft Store 

Once you have installed the pending updates successfully, launch your Xbox application and Microsoft Store, and sign out of both of them. Here is how you can sign out of the Microsoft Store:

  1. Launch Microsoft Store and click on your user icon in the top-right corner of the window.
  2. Click on Sign out in the context menu.

  4. Once done, launch your Xbox application sign out of it.

3. Terminate, Restore, and Reset Microsoft Store App and Launcher

The next thing that you need to do is terminate, restore, and reset the Microsoft Store and Minecraft launcher to fix the issues that might be causing the error.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Type Settings in the search area of your taskbar and hit Open.
  2. In the Settings window, click on Apps.

  4. Click on it, and click on Advanced options

  7. Finally, hit the Reset button and wait for the procedure to complete.

4. Clear Microsoft Store Cache

The cache files your computer keeps are temporary files that it downloads and stores to save it time in the future. In this method, we will remove the cached files of the Microsoft Store. 

  1. Right-click Windows and open Run.
  2. Now type the following in the text field of the dialog box and hit Enter (click Yes, if UAC prompt received):

  3. Once done, move towards the next step.

5. Update Microsoft Store

In the final method, we will install the updates available within the Microsoft Store. Follow the steps mentioned below to do so:

  1. Launch Microsoft Store and sign in.
  2. Click on the Library icon located in the left corner of the window.

Reinstall Minecraft Launcher

Several users also managed to fix the issue by reinstalling the Minecraft launcher, so we suggest you give it a try if the first method did not work for you.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Press Windows + I keys simultaneously on your keyboard to open Windows Settings.
  2. In the Settings window, click on Apps.
