Mystery New Apple Watch Model Spotted in Latest Apple Ad

Apple recently uploaded a new ad to their YouTube channel titled “Swiped.” The ad showcases a design team as they try to retrieve a stolen MacBook Air before a crucial presentation. However, we have noticed something strange in the ad: a mysterious new Apple Watch.

The watch appears at the 2:20 mark in the ad. It has a square face, a shiny metal case, and a less protruding crown than the current Watch Ultra. The bezels around the face are also uneven, which is so unlike Apple. Take a look down below:

So what could this be? We know that this couldn’t be the normal Apple Watch, as Apple had heavily advertised the rounded corners three years ago, and to cut it off two generations later doesn’t seem like a move they would, or in fact could pull off.

It could be a new version of the Apple Watch Ultra, but the uneven bezels and shiny metal case don’t seem to fit with the Ultra’s rugged design.

This means that it could be a new, lower-cost version of the Apple Watch, which would explain the uneven bezels too. However, the shiny metal case would be out of place on a budget smartwatch. And also, why? I mean, we already have the SE that most users are satisfied with.

It’s also possible that the watch is simply a prop that was used in the ad and is not actually a real product. However, it seems unlikely that Apple would make such a mistake (a closeup too), especially in an ad that is meant to showcase their a lot about the company.

So, what is the mysterious watch? We may never know for sure, but it’s sure is something strange. Either Apple is trying to tease their upcoming product, which again is unlike Apple’s marketing, or this is simply a mistake. I mean, later on in the ad, we get another closeup, and this time, it seems like a completely different device altogether.

Sure there are some similarities, but where is the flat display? Take a look at this snippet down below:

In addition to the mystery watch, the ad also raises some questions about Apple’s marketing practices. It’s kind of misleading in a way that Apple doesn’t actually track your missing device in real-time.

Also, in the ad, it shows a laptop playing a sound even though it is not connected to the internet. This is not possible, as laptops do not have cellular connectivity. So, if a laptop is stolen and turned off, or if it is not connected to Wi-Fi, it will not be able to play a sound.

All in all, the ad has been a mixed bag. It great in showcasing the point Apple has been trying to make with a bit of humor and suspense, but it can also be a bit misleading. This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
