Call of Duty’s New Battle Pass Ditches the Traditional ‘Linear’ Progression System

Now that the release of Warzone 2.0 is less than a week away, fresh details about the game are being revealed on a daily basis. At the moment, there is a fascinating bit of data on the next battle pass.

A new battle pass has been announced for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Instead of the usual battle pass structure, this one will focus on non-linear progression. As a result, rather than the usual rigid structure for battle pass unlocks, players will be able to choose what they want to grind towards.

So, you only need to buy a battle pass once and use it across both Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. It will offer a diverse selection of content that can be shared between games.

In this battle pass, players won’t be able to progress through a series of levels and unlocks; instead, they’ll have to navigate a map with multiple sectors, each of which contains five items. You’ll be able to pick a random sector, travel there, acquire the goods you want, and then move on to the next. As the new battle pass is presented as a big map, and in order to go across it, players must collect tokens that can be exchanged for either the items or access to more “sectors.”

Here’s what else you can expect from the battlepass:

Call Of Duty Warzone 2 is coming later this month, on November 16th. We will keep you updated, as we learn more.
