How to Fix “Internal Server Error” on DoorDash?

The DoorDash Internal Server Error can occur due to various reasons which can include server outages in their network, malfunctioning DoorDash app on your mobile, internet connection issues and corrupted browser data. In some cases, the third-party extensions installed on your browser can alter the outgoing request which can cause the error message in question. If you are encountering the issue on the DoorDash app, you will have to reinstall it to mitigate any malfunctions in that case.

In this article, we will take you through a number of methods that you can implement to resolve the Internal Server Error message on DoorDash.

1. Check Server Status

The first thing you should do when starting to troubleshoot this problem is to check the server status of DoorDash. This is because internal server errors are often caused by a configuration issue with the server itself. In layman’s terms, the error message comes when the server encounters a condition it cannot satisfy while trying to respond to your request.

As such, it ends up throwing the internal server error. Therefore, it is likely the DoorDash servers are experiencing an issue which is causing the issue. You can check the server status via different channels. The first one is the official Twitter handle of DoorDash which will report any downtimes that are experienced by the company.

Alternatively, you can also refer to third-party websites that track the server status of various services, such as DownDetector and more. If the servers are operating just fine, move to the next method below.

2. Use a Different Browser

Another reason that the problem in question can occur can be the web browser you are using on your device. This can happen due to an inconsistency with the browser config. In such a scenario, you can often resolve the issue by switching to a different web browser.

Download and install a different web browser on your device and see if that resolves the issue for you. In case it does, it will be evident the issue was caused by a misconfiguration on your older browser. In such a scenario, you can try reinstalling the web browser on your device to see if that gets rid of the issue in question.

3. Disable Third-Party Extensions

In some scenarios, the third-party extensions installed on your browser can also cause an internal server error. This happens when the third-party add-ons interfere with the request sent by your web browser to DoorDash servers. This interference can cause unexpected results on the server side which can prompt it to return the 500 error code.

Therefore, if you are using third-party extensions on your browser, you will have to disable them to see if that resolves the issue. There are multiple ways you can go about this. First, you can start the web browser in safe mode by holding down the Shift key while starting the browser. Safe Mode will disable any extensions on your browser.

Alternatively, you can also use the private or incognito window mode. By default, all extensions are disabled in the private window mode unless you explicitly enable them.

Use one of the above methods and see if disabling the extensions resolves the issue. If the problem goes away, you can find the culprit by disabling them manually one by one.

4. Clear Cookies and Cache

The browser cache and cookies can be another reason for the Internal Server Error message on the DoorDash website. When you visit a website, cookies are stored on your browser by that website which lets it manage your sessions. In addition, the browser cache is updated which can help with improving the performance of the website on your browser.

However, in some scenarios, an inconsistency with the browsing data can cause an internal server error. If this case is applicable, you will have to clear the browsing data to resolve the issue. Follow the instructions below to clear the cache for your respective browser.

In such a scenario, you can try switching to a different network connection to see if that resolves the issue. If you are on a computer, you can use your mobile data to see if the problem persists.

If the problem persists, you can try restarting your router to see if that resolves the issue on your primary network. If that does not result in a fix, you will have to reach out to your internet service provider (ISP).

6. Reinstall App (if applicable)

In case you are encountering the issue on the mobile application of DoorDash, it is likely an inconsistency with the app itself is causing the issue. In such a scenario, you can resolve the issue by uninstalling the app from your phone and then installing it over again.

This will remove previous app configuration files, while also clearing the app cache on your phone which can be the cause behind the issue. Once you reinstall the application on your phone, see if the problem still occurs.
