Fortnite just released the Chapter 5 launch trailer on YouTube and eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice something quite interesting. Apparently, Viacom was featured in the copyright list at the end of the trailer, despite having no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) reference in the trailer itself.
Fortnite crossovers are nothing new and over the course of the past few years, have become a integral part of the Fortnite experience. Every chapter, there are new characters joining the Fortnite community, and this time we have quite a few, namely Family Guy and Metal Gear Solid, and possibly TMNT.
The trailer opens with Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid emerging from a box, armed with a gun (more on that later). Following that, we see Peter Griffin from Family Guy, sporting a rather unusual-looking physique. While Peter is typically portrayed as a bit hefty, the trailer showcases him with an unusually muscular build, a decision likely made to prevent any unfair hitbox advantages.
Interestingly, this muscular Peter is actually a reference to an episode titled “He’s Too Sexy for His Fat” from Season 2, where Peter undergoes a drastic weight loss transformation.
As for TMNT references within the trailer, all we could find was a glowing manhole cover, possibly indicating at a future collab.
In addition to the previous references, there’s another subtle hint at the end of the trailer that seemingly confirms the TGMNT x Fortnite collaboration. A painting on the walls underground, behind Metal Gear’s Solid Snake, appears to depict Leonardo, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the image below, notice the wall behind Snake.
This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
