How can I factory reset an ASUS laptop?

There are two ways you can reset your ASUS laptop: via the ‘Reset this PC‘ option in Settings or through the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). Either method can take between 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on your system model and specifications.

Method 1: Reset Using the ‘Reset This PC’ Feature.

To factory reset your ASUS laptop via the Windows ‘Reset this PC’ option, follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Search, type ‘Reset this PC,’ and click the button.
  2. Now, press the ‘Get Started‘ button under the ‘Reset this PC‘ option.

Your PC will restart several times during the reset process, and once completed, you will need to set it up again.

Method 2: Reset using Windows RE.  

This method is used if your Windows is either corrupted or inaccessible. Follow these steps if you want to reset your ASUS laptop completely using the Windows Recovery Environment.

  1. Boot into the Windows Recovery Environment.
  2. After your PC enters the “Windows Recovery Environment,” select ‘Troubleshoot.’
