The Smuggling Tunnels can be found at a stronghold located between Al Mazrah City and Zarqwa Hydroelectric. However, once you are at this location, finding the entrances to the tunnels can prove to be very challenging. To make things easier for yourself and save time, read this guide, where we will quickly show you where to find the Smuggling Tunnels in DMZ.
MW2 DMZ Smuggling Tunnel Locations.
To start the Smuggling Tunnel mission, deploy into Al Mazrah and open your tactical map. If you take a look at the road between Al Mazrah City and Zarqwa Hydroelectric on your map, you will see an icon for a Stronghold.
This stronghold is where you’ll find the smuggling tunnels. If you’re having trouble finding it on your map, we’ve attached an image of the map below to help you out. The coordinates of this stronghold are around E3.
Before you head to this location, there are a few things you should note. Firstly, make sure to bring a Stronghold Key with you, as one is required to unlock the entrance to the Stronghold.
If you don’t have a Stronghold Key, you can simply go to any Buy Station on the map and purchase it from there. Alternatively, you can also obtain it as a drop from AI enemies.
The next thing you should note is that there are multiple entrances to the tunnel. Most of these entrances are filled with enemies. Therefore, you will need to come prepared with proper weaponry, and it is highly recommended to attempt this mission alongside a teammate. Completing this mission solo will be very challenging, and it will take an unnecessarily long amount of time for you to clear out the tunnels yourself.
Once you’ve arrived at the Stronghold, you’ll have to decide which entrance you want to take. Below, we’ve provided a list of each entrance to the Smuggling Tunnels, and we’ll cover the pros and cons of each entrance.
Smuggling Tunnels Entrance #1
The first way to access the Smuggling Tunnels is through the small V-shaped building at this location. The attached map image below shows where the V-shaped building is.
Go to the entrance of this building and use your Stronghold Key to open the door, then head inside. Once inside, proceed to the room in front of you. You will notice a ladder to your right.
This ladder will take you to the Smuggling Tunnels. However, this is a very dangerous way to enter the tunnels as this path is filled to the brim with enemies, and the ladder is very narrow, so you won’t have much wiggle room as you’re going down.
If you’re very confident in your weaponry and skills, you can choose to enter the tunnels this way. But it’s highly recommended to use the other entrances.
Smuggling Tunnels Entrance #2
The second entrance is located right behind the V-shaped building at the Stronghold. From this building, face towards the west, jump over the fence, and drop down from the small cliff. After that, turn around and you’ll find the second entrance to the tunnels, hidden between some trees.
This entrance is much safer than the previous one; however, you’ll still have to face quite a few enemies inside.
Smuggling Tunnels Entrance #3
The final entrance is on the other side of the road, unlike the other ones. The map image below shows exactly where this entrance is.
When you reach this location, you will find a large well that serves as the second entry point to the tunnels. This entrance is much safer, as it has fewer enemies inside, and the well is relatively wide, making it safer to climb down.
Once you have found these entrances, the first objective will be completed. Now, all you need to do to complete the second objective is place tactical cameras at any two of these entrances. You can then extract from the map to complete the mission!
