Uninstall COD and install Warzone (standalone) on PC via Battle.Net
- Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Next, type ‘appwiz.cpl’ inside the text box and press Enter to open up the Programs and Features menu.
Note: If you are prompted by the UAC (User Account Control), click Yes to grant admin access.
- Inside the Programs and Features menu, scroll down through the list of installed programs and locate the Call of Duty entry.
- When you finally discover the Call of Duty entry, right-click on it and choose Uninstall from the context menu that just appeared.
- Inside the uninstallation screen, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process then restart your computer.
- After your computer boots back up, open the Battle.Net app and sign up with your account credentials.
Note: If you don’t have Battle.Net installed on your computer, you can download the latest version and create an account on this official Blizzard page.
- Once you are successfully signed into the Battle.Net app, click on All games at the top of the screen, then click on Warzone from the available library of games.
- Once you’re inside the correct listing of Warzone, click on the Install button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- At the next screen, configure your Warzone installation and hit Start Install when you are ready to go.
- After the installation is finally complete, open Warzone and see if you still get the same dev error when you attempt to join a multiplayer game.
Uninstall COD and Install Warzone (standalone) on PS5
- From the main dashboard of your PS5 console, use the left thumbstick on your controller to select the Call of Duty listing.
- Next, press Options (on your DualSense Controller) and bring up the context menu.
- Once you get to the next context menu, select Delete and confirm once asked to do so.
