How to Fix CapCut Templates Not Showing
CapCut templates may disappear from the mobile app, return empty search results, or look much smaller on web/desktop than the template feed shown in TikTok or on another phone.

This is easy to mistake for a broken app because CapCut does not show the same template experience everywhere. Mobile has the fullest template feed, web shows a smaller official gallery, desktop is more limited, and some templates depend on the account, region, or sign-in method.
A reinstall only helps when templates used to work on the same account and device, then stopped loading locally.
1. Match the Template You Expect to the Platform You Are Using
CapCut’s full template experience is strongest on the mobile app. Web and desktop can show fewer template options, so a missing template on those platforms may be normal even when the same template is visible on a phone.
- If you are on mobile, open CapCut and look for the Template tab at the bottom of the home screen.

The mobile app is still the main place to check for CapCut’s full template feed. - If you are on CapCut Web, expect a smaller official gallery rather than the full mobile or TikTok-linked template catalog.

CapCut Web does not mirror every mobile or TikTok-linked template. - If you are on CapCut Desktop, do not expect the same full community gallery or mobile-style template search.
- If the template you want is mobile-only, open or apply it on mobile first, then sync the project to web or desktop if needed.
If the template appears only on mobile, the platform difference explains the missing gallery. If you are already using the right platform, check the account next.
2. Sign In to the Correct CapCut Account
Some templates only appear when you are signed in. CapCut can also treat Google, TikTok, Facebook, and email sign-ins as separate accounts, even when they use the same email address.
That can make the template library look smaller or empty on one device while another device appears normal.
- Sign in to CapCut before checking the template library again.

Some templates only show when CapCut can identify the account that has access. - Use the same login method you originally used, such as Google, TikTok, Facebook, or Email.

Using a different login button can open a different CapCut account, even with the same email address. - If you may have mixed login methods, sign out and sign back in with the original method.
- Open the Templates area again and check whether saved, recommended, or paid templates return.
If the library changes after correcting the account, the issue was sign-in mismatch. If the tab exists but search returns nothing, check search and connection behavior.
3. Fix Empty Template Search Results on Mobile or Web
An empty search result is different from a missing Templates tab. It usually means CapCut can open the template area, but the catalog is not loading for that keyword, network, browser, or region.
- If you are on desktop, test search on mobile or web instead, since desktop template search is more limited.
- On web, reload CapCut and try a broad keyword such as travel, vlog, or fashion. If needed, switch to Chrome, Edge, or Safari.

If search is visible but returns nothing, test broader keywords, browser behavior, and account-region access before resetting the app. - On web, temporarily disable ad blockers or privacy extensions. If a VPN is active, turn it off and search again.

Browser extensions and VPNs can interfere with CapCut’s web template catalog. - On mobile, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then fully close and reopen CapCut before searching again.
If CapCut also shows a direct network error while templates load, fix that with this CapCut no internet connection guide.
4. Update CapCut and Refresh Account or Region State
Old app builds and gradual regional rollouts can make templates appear incomplete. This is common when the Template tab exists but the catalog is smaller than expected, or a template works for other users but not for your account.
- On iPhone or Android, update CapCut from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Outdated app builds can leave the template feed missing, incomplete, or out of sync with current availability. - If Google Play cannot check for updates normally, resolve that first with this Play Store update-error guide.
- On desktop, open Settings > Version > Check for updates, or use the update arrow if CapCut shows one.

If you are testing desktop, update from CapCut’s own version menu before judging template availability. - Restart CapCut after updating so the template catalog reloads.
- If templates still look region/account limited, sign out and back in once with the original login method.
- If you are looking for paid templates, test in the mobile app, since paid template browsing and purchase are not the same across web and desktop.
If templates reappear after updating or refreshing the account session, the issue was version or eligibility state. If templates used to work on this same device and account, reset local app state next.
5. Clear Local App State or Reinstall Only After the Earlier Checks
Cache clearing and reinstalling are useful when templates previously worked on the same account and platform, then suddenly stopped loading. They are less useful when the template is simply unavailable on desktop, web, or the current account/region.
- On Android, clear CapCut cache from Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage.

Clearing cache is useful when templates used to show before and CapCut now keeps loading stale catalog data. - If templates still do not return, reinstall the official CapCut app or desktop client.
- Sign back in with the same original login method.
- If the template library is still missing, contact CapCut Support from the app or help center and include your platform, app version, country, login method, and screenshots of the Templates area.
If templates return after the reset, the problem was local app state on that device. If they do not, keep the case in CapCut’s support path instead of repeating the same reinstall loop.
