Bloodborne Reportedly Once Had a Fully Playable PC Version

It been eight years since its release and to this day, Bloodborne hasn’t been available for any other platform other than the PlayStation. However, that may not be entirely true. Rumors have surfaced indicating that a fully playable PC version of the game may have existed at some point.

Today, insider Lance McDonald shared some interesting details on Twitter regarding a possible PC build of Bloodborne.

McDonald revealed that Marcos Domenech, an environmental artist at FromSoftware, had added screenshots of Oil Urns to the Bloodborne “fandom” wiki. These screenshots were allegedly taken from a PC build, as shown by the file convention “SPRJ-win64” utilized by the game’s debug menu.

He states in his tweet:

I’ve mentioned that I’ve seen Bloodborne running on Windows 7 before in a private setting, and that was a super early build from around May 2014. This is the first time we’ve seen the full game + DLC. Still, not like we’ll ever get our hands on it…

This is from years ago I only just noticed it today. I think a lot of people thought I was lying when I said Bloodborne already runs on PC and the dev team were using it regularly. But if you wanted actual proof, there you go.

This strongly suggests that a complete PC build for Bloodborne definitely existed, specifically for its expansion, The Old Hunters. Also, all of this does not indicate that a PC version is in development. The only possible explanation is that it was used for internal purposes only.

As for the developer releasing a PC version in the future, it seems as if that isn’t happening either. Bloodborne has a loyal fanbase on PS, and there hasn’t been any sorts of indications from the developer for a possible PC port.

While this is all we know for now, rest assured that we will keep you updated on all developments as new information becomes available.
