How to Fix Black Ops 6 Not Launching Issue on PC
The Black Ops 6 not launching issue often occurs due to mismatched language settings and incorrect region configurations, which frequently prevent the game from initializing. Additionally, interference from anti-cheat applications, corrupted game files, and overclock settings are leading causes of this issue.
Although anti-cheat applications are designed to monitor background tasks, they can interfere with the startup process of Black Ops 6 and potentially prevent it from launching. Moreover, if you’ve recently updated or installed the game, the game files might have become corrupted during the process, contributing to this issue.
1. Change the Language and Update the Game
By changing the language, you can ensure compatibility with the game files, which might address the Black Ops 6 startup issue. Even if you already have the correct language selected, change it to a different language to check if the issue resolves.
- To do so, open Steam and navigate to the Library.
- Right-click on Black Ops 6 and select Properties.
- From the General tab, change the Language to English. If you already have it, select another language.
- Then, update the game.
- Once done, try launching it to see if this resolves the issue.
2. Verify if You Have the Correct Time and Region
An incorrect time and region in Windows settings can cause incompatibility with the game files and servers. Therefore, you should check whether you have the correct date and time along with the region to avoid any startup issues.
- Right-click the date and time on the taskbar and select Adjust date and time.
- Enable the options Set time automatically and Set timezone automatically.
- Click Sync Now to synchronize the time with the Windows Server.
- Once done, click Time and Language from the top and select Language & Region.
- Under Region, ensure the correct region is selected.
- Finally, launch Black Ops 6 to verify if the game now launches.
3. Disable Overclock
Overclocking often causes crashes and instability in games. In rare cases, it can even prevent the game from launching. By resetting the overclock settings, you revert to default settings, reducing the risk of crashes and system conflicts that could prevent the game from launching.
- If you’ve overclocked any hardware components, such as the CPU or memory, access the motherboard BIOS settings to reset the overclock. To do this, restart your computer and press the Delete, F2, or F12 key as soon as the motherboard manufacturer’s logo appears.
- Once in the BIOS, navigate to the Overclock settings and disable any overclocking options.
- If you’ve overclocked your GPU, open MSI Afterburner and reset the overclock settings.
4. Verify the Game Files
Damaged or corrupted files are also among the leading causes that could prevent Black Ops 6 from launching. Verifying the game files checks for any missing or corrupted files in the Black Ops 6 installation and restores them by downloading replacements from the server.
4.1 Verify the Game Files
- Open Steam and go to the game’s library.
- Right-click on Black Ops 6 and select Properties.
- Then, select Installed Files from the left sidebar and click Verify the integrity of game files.
4.2 Battle.net
If you have Black Ops 6 on Battle.net, you can follow these steps:
- Open Battle.net and navigate to Games.
- Select Black Ops 6 from the list of games.
- Click the Gear icon next to the Play button and select Scan and Repair.
- Finally, click Begin Scan to proceed with the process.
- Once done, launch Black Ops 6 to see if the game is now launching.
5. Uninstall Anti-cheats Faceit, Riot Vanguard, reWASD, or Perform a Clean Boot
Anti-cheat programs like Faceit, Riot Vanguard, and reWASD run several background processes that may interfere with the game’s startup. To prevent this, you can either perform a clean boot or uninstall the anti-cheat applications. We recommend performing a clean boot if you regularly play games that require these anti-cheat programs. However, uninstalling the anti-cheat applications is a viable option if you don’t play these games regularly.
- Open the Run Program using the Win + R keys simultaneously.
- Type msconfig in the input box and click OK to run the command.
- Select Selective Startup and navigate to Services from the top bar.
- Check Hide all Microsoft Services and click Disable All.
- Once done, click Apply and OK to save the settings.
- Restart your computer for the changes to take effect and see if you encounter the same issue.
Although the solutions we discussed should resolve the issue, if it still persists, you can try reinstalling the game completely. This will replace the corrupted files in the Black Ops 6 installation directory that might be causing the issue.
