Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition Releases for Xbox Consoles, Available on Game Pass

Last year, in October, it was announced that Age of Empires will be making its way over to the green camp. In January, Age of Empires II was officially released for Xbox, and today, during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, a surprise announcement was made for the release of Age of Empires IV on Xbox One, and Series X/S.

The game will be available to play via Game Pass, and for it to run comfortably on consoles, a few changes have been made, similar to what was done with Age of Empires II.

The interface, as whole has been updated, with radial wheels and all to allow for a better controller experience, so that the game is comfortable to play. Not only that, but if you’re a fan of the PC version of the game, and want to use a mouse and keyboard, you have the option to do so.

Other than that, the game also supports multiplayer mode, where you can play with up to seven people on Series X/S, and three on the Xbox One, strange! As far as the resolution is concerned, the game supports up to 4K on Xbox Series X, 1080p on Xbox Series S, 1440p on Xbox One X, and 900p on other Xbox One devices. Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S support up to 60fps, whereas Xbox One has been optimized for up to 30fps.

This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
