Warzone 2.0 is Receiving Numerous Negative Reviews on Steam and Metacritic

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 had a rough release on 16th November. However, the game attracted a lot of players due to hype around Activision’s latest take on Battle Royal. Upon release it skyrocketed the number of players jumping into the Al Mazrah as a new all-time high of concurrent players on Steam was recorded, with over 450K players playing Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2; this record shattered all the previous records of a Call of Duty game launch and now sits right above the Call of Duty game’s charts.

However, things weren’t as smooth as expected for the fans; while Modern Warfare 2 banned players for no reason at launch, Warzone 2.0 also came with numerous bugs and technical issues upon launch. It has been a tradition with Call of Duty games at launch; players face many issues in the early days of a new Call of Duty game.

And Warzone 2.0 was no different; not only was the new UI of Warzone 2.0 rejected by the players but the players on the PC platform were infuriated due to the advantages console players have, like the aim assist ability. All this resulted in a wave of negative user reviews on Steam and Metacritic for Warzone 2.0.

Although Infinity Ward has been swift with fixing bugs and issues that players were facing at the launch of Warzone 2.0. Still, many of the issues and bugs remained.

However, it is confirmed that Infinity Ward and Activision will continue to support both Calls of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 to keep the experience fresh for gamers. According to some rumors, multiple development studios are working on updates for new Call of Duty games, and a new resurgence map for Warzone 2.0 is also reportedly in development.

On top of that, a reliable industry insider recently confirmed that Sledgehammer Games is working on premium Call of Duty content for 2023. So, it looks like Warzone 2.0 will become stable with time, and Infinity Ward will work on the feedback from the fans. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 are now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
