How to Update Minecraft Bedrock on Windows PC?

If your Minecraft Bedrock edition is not updating automatically upon launching, you will need to update it manually to ensure access to the latest features, content, and compatibility with online servers.

1. Update from Microsoft Store

  1. Open the Microsoft Store and navigate to Library from the bottom left.
  2. Under Updates & Downloads, find Minecraft and click Update.
  3. If Minecraft is not listed, click Get Updates, and Minecraft should appear under Updates & Downloads.
  4. Then, click Update to update Minecraft. This will update it to the latest version.

2. Update from the Xbox App

  1. Click the Start Menu, search for Xbox App, and then open it.
  2. Navigate to My Library from the top left and select Minecraft for Windows from the list of installed games.
  3. Once you are there, click the three dots and select Manage.
  4. Now go to Files and click Check for updates. If an update is found, update Minecraft to the latest version.
  5. Once done, additionally, you can verify and repair the game files to ensure you don’t have any corrupted or damaged files that could cause further issues with Minecraft.

If Minecraft is still not updating after trying the previous solutions, you can try reinstalling Minecraft Bedrock Edition. This should ensure you have the latest version. Simply uninstall Minecraft by navigating to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps. Then, reinstall Minecraft from the Microsoft Store.
