Fix: Workers Not Working or Stuck in Schedule 1
In Schedule 1, you may sometimes face a situation where your workers suddenly stop performing their tasks or stay frozen in the same spot. This problem affects roles such as Cleaner, Botanists who handle planting, Handlers, and Chemists. It usually appears when tasks are not assigned correctly, when workers remain unpaid, or even when everything such as workstation setup, materials, and scheduling looks completely fine.

In many cases, the issue occurs because the worker AI fails to move to the next activity.
This can be triggered by corrupted game files, pathfinding problems, tight space around workstations, or tasks that were never assigned properly.
1. Save and Relaunch The Game
Saving and relaunching the game forces the system to reload everything such as worker AI, task queues, and pathfinding information. When the game restarts, any temporary glitch is cleared and broken loops are refreshed.
After the restart, the workers load in a fresh condition and continue their assigned tasks normally.
- Press Esc on your keyboard and click on Settings.

- Click on Console.

- Type Save and press Enter.

- You can also go to your house and press the save button near the light switch.

- Save the game and exit.
- Reload the game and see if the workers start acting correctly.
2. Knock Them Out and Restart After a Save
Knocking out the worker forces the game to refresh their position, condition, and movement pattern. When they wake up, the game resets their status which clears the problem.
Saving and restarting the game after that removes any remaining temporary issue.
- Knock out the worker or the group of workers who are stuck.

- Save and restart the game to see if they begin working again.
3. Create Enough Space in Workstation
This issue often appears when the workers remain blocked inside a workstation that has very little walking room. Limited space prevents movement and causes workers to freeze in place.
Adding more open space helps the workers walk freely without being blocked by objects or clutter.
To do this: Make sure there is clear room between every object.

4. Ram The Workers With Skateboard
This method works because the physical impact forces the game to update the worker position. Once the worker is moved, the system recalculates their movement and resets the activity pattern. As a result, the worker refreshes and begins following their tasks again.
