ASUS Rog Ally Complete Specifications Surfaces Online, Say Goodbye to Steam Deck
With the ROG Ally, Asus is entering the competitive mobile PC gaming market with a portable machine it claims will more than meet users’ hardware expectations. Since its original unveiling, Asus has provided additional information about the ROG Ally, which is being marketed as a competitor to the Steam Deck.
ASUS ROG Ally Looks Much Superior to the Steam Deck On Paper
The ROG Ally is powered by a six-core AMD Ryzen Z1 processor and an AMD Radeon RDNA 3 graphics chip that employs AMD’s Super Resolution FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaling technology. The ROG Ally boasts a 7-inch Full HD 120Hz display with a maximum of 500 Nits of brightness and a reaction time of 7 milliseconds.
It supports Dolby Atmos via its speakers and features 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, all while weighing in only a feathery 608g. The ROG Ally comes standard with a 512GB SSD and can be upgraded with a microSD card for even more space.

The ROG Ally runs Windows 11, allowing customers access to games from a wider selection of PC platforms than the Steam Deck’s SteamOS. Since it is based on Windows, you should be able to utilize your existing PC peripherals with it.
Games from Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Ubisoft Connect, the EA App, and more will be compatible with the ROG Ally, as has been claimed by Asus. The Asus Armory Crate is also included, and it has a lot of cool features like being able to remap keys, add an overlay to the control panel, and switch between different performance settings.
While the exact retail pricing of the ROG Ally has yet to be announced, Asus has said that it will not exceed $1,000. That puts the ROG Ally in the same price range as other specialized mobile gaming PC systems like the Ayaneo Air, and possibly above the top-tier 512GB Steam Deck ($650).
