Palworld Cracks Steam’s Top 5, with Over a Million Active Players in 3 Days
Palworld has taken the world by surprise, crushing records on its opening weekend. The game sold over 2 million copies within 24 hours of its release and is causing huge challenges for the game hosting servers on Steam and Epic. Multiple instances of the servers being down have occurred due to excessive and unpredicted load.
On Steam, the game climbed into the top-10 yesterday for the most concurrent players. As of the time of this writing, it has surpassed those records as well, reaching the 1st position. This makes it the #1 paid game with the most concurrent players on Steam alone, ranking 5th overall, behind popular titles such as PUBG and Valve’s CS2.
The game has found itself in the center of a strange controversy due to its concept and the idea it portrays, in addition to the similarities with Pokémon. However, that doesn’t seem to be stopping the game from tearing through record charts. For a bit of reference, the game was released on Xbox One and X/S and was available on Game Pass on launch day, but the numbers for those platforms aren’t available at the moment.
