OnePlus Delays Watch 3 Launch After “Meda in China” Typo

The OnePlus Watch 3’s release date has been postponed to April 25th, 2025, from February 25 after a minor “typographical” error on the watch led to a full recall.

Earlier this week, the OnePlus Watch 3 became the center of attention for a rather unusual reason. Apparently, after its launch, users noticed a strange typo on the caseback. Instead of “Made in China,” some watches read “Meda in China.”

This minute error was quickly noticed by early adopters and reviewers, who were quick to bring the issue to media attention, where OnePlus, too, acknowledged their mistake and offered a full refund, no questions asked.

OnePlus has delayed the launch for another two months, citing the typo as the sole reason. However, this also means that buyers who’ve bought the “defective” units have the option to keep the watch as a one-of-a-kind, limited edition unit, which may end up being worth more.

At the moment, OnePlus has removed product listings for the Watch 3 on their website. You can however pre-order the watch. On release, the OnePlus Watch 3 will cost $329 and come in two colors: Obsidian Titanium and Emerald Titanium.
