Nothing Phone (2) Specs Leaked Online Ahead of Launch

The Nothing Phone (1) was released only a year ago, and for some it didn’t fail to deliver on the hype that it had created. In a short period of time, Nothing has become one of the most popular companies, although they have a lot to do to catch up to the leaderboard.

With this in mind, the Phone (2) is one of the most anticipated releases this year, and it remains to be seen how the company will improve upon it’s previous iteration. The Phone (1) was sort of a mid-range device that targeted a wide-range of consumers looking for something unique in the lower price bracket, and that is one of the many reasons it was a huge success in a country like India.

Now, we have news on the expected specifications for the Phone (2).

The Phone (2) is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship chipset paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. While the chipset will be fairly old at the time of release, it would be enough for all day-to-day tasks, but would be a great jump over the Snapdragon 778G in the Phone (1).

It is also rumored to have a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The device is also rumored to come with a 50MP main camera with OIS, as well as two other cameras, likely an ultrawide and an auxiliary cam.

The phone will have stereo speakers, NFC, and a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging capabilities.

As for the release, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be released this Summer. Although the exact date has not been confirmed, a model number (AIN065) was spotted on the BIS certification site, which suggests that the phone is finished and almost ready to launch.

In addition, the price of the Nothing Phone (2) has not been officially confirmed, but it is expected to be more premium than the Phone (1), which was priced competitively. Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, has hinted at a price increase for the Phone (2) due to its higher-end specs.

Furthermore, earlier this week, a teaser released by Nothing shows a small part of the Phone (2) design, which includes a red flashing light and a circle along the bottom edge that looks like a latch to open a compartment. Nothing has not confirmed what this latch is for, but it could be for a replaceable battery, although it sort of looked like a mute switch.

We all can agree that the company has done a great job in maintaining secrecy in it’s releases, and will surely being up something out of the box. There’s a lot to talk about and a lot that hasn’t been shown off, but rest assured as we will make sure to keep you updated as new information becomes available.
