How To make a PDF Fillable or Add Text?

Being able to fill a PDF file can be very efficient and convenient when you need to enter data to fill a form. Fillable pdf forms can be easily filled out and then printed or sent to customers through email. However, some PDF documents are non-editable and they need to be converted into a fillable format to enter the data in the forms.

Converting a non-editable pdf file into a fillable format does not compromise the integrity of data or the structure and layout of the document. There are many online sources available that convert a PDF file into a fillable format for easy data entry purposes. You can also use desktop applications like Adobe Acrobat Reader to convert a pdf file into a fillable format but keep in mind that you would need a subscription for that.

Use An Online PDF Editor

We recommend using an online PDF editor which is easy to use and free service on the web. There are many Online PDF editors available but not all are completely free. Some have a daily limit or a size limit imposed which means you can only create a limited number of fillable PDFs. We recommend using pdfescape.com which is a free service although it has a 10MB size restriction. If you want to convert a file larger than 10MB in size, you will need to upgrade to a premium user. You can try compressing your PDF if the size is above 10MB.

1. Open your browser and navigate to PDF Escape.
2. On the home page, you will see the option to Choose a file or Drag and Drop a PDF file that you want to convert as fillable.

   

3. Once you have selected the file it will start uploading which can take a few seconds

   

4. After uploading is completed you will be redirected to the page where you can edit and add text to the PDF. You can also add objects and shapes, images, and hyperlinks.

   

5. You can change the size of the text, color, and type as well. You also have complete control over what and where you want to add text.
6. You can insert form fields which will create input boxes inside the pdf file so once you download you can enter text in the box just like a real fillable form

   

7. Once you are done click on the download button on the left sidebar and your document will be downloaded on your computer.
8. When you open the file you will see that now you can fill text in the places where you added Form fields
