How to Fix the Logitech Speakers not Working Problem on Windows?

When Logitech speakers don’t work on a Windows system, you may hear no sound, or sound only from one side. This usually happens because of wrong sound settings, outdated drivers, or damaged cables. A common reason is improper driver installation, especially with Realtek audio drivers, which can stop speakers from being detected.

Corrupt registry entries or issues in the sound control panel can also cause problems.

1. Change the Default Format of the Speakers

Changing the default audio format can fix speaker issues. Adjusting the sample rate or bit depth ensures the speakers can properly process the sound, addressing problems without complex troubleshooting.

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl, and hit Enter to open the Sound settings.
  2. Go to the Playback tab.

  4. Choose at least 2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality). See if your speakers work properly now!

2. Enable Audio Enhancements

The problem with Logitech speakers not working can sometimes be due to how Windows handles sound. Turning on audio enhancements can improve sound quality by fixing audio issues in the default settings. This helps with problems like low volume or distorted sound, especially if other fixes haven’t worked.

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl, and hit Enter to open the Sound settings.
  2. Go to the Playback tab.
    Enable enhancements
  3. Select your device, click Properties, go to the Enhancements tab, and uncheck Disable all enhancements. Click OK and see if your Logitech speakers work.

3. Deny Exclusive Access to Your Speakers

Sometimes, apps can take control of your speakers and block others, causing audio issues. Denying this exclusive control lets all apps use the speakers, allowing Windows to manage sound better. This can fix problems with Logitech speakers, especially after certain apps or updates disrupt the audio setup.

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl, and hit Enter to open Sound settings.

Running the “Playing Audio Troubleshooter” can automatically find and fix common problems with Logitech speakers. It checks for issues like wrong settings, disabled devices, or driver problems, and tries to fix them.

  1. Press Windows Key + I to quickly open Settings.
