How to Export Contacts from iPhone to PC or a Flash Drive
The most significant aspect of one’s life in today’s world is one’s digital data. Loss of data means you are back to square one. Hence, people try their best to save their digital data from corrupting or getting lost. The contact numbers in your phone falls in this category, too.
The best two ways to save yourself from losing contacts numbers is to make their back up. Backing up contacts can be done on other devices or over cloud storages. The easiest of all the techniques is to simply save contacts in your phone on your laptop.
If your phone is an iPhone, you will need iTunes in your laptop to make a connection between your phone and laptop. iTunes is an Apple software that makes laptops compatible to share information with an iPhone. Apple laptops, the Macbooks, have iTunes built-in. If you have laptop of some other manufacturer, you will need to download it. Once you have iTunes, things are simpler.
Copy contacts to your phone and then to the laptop
The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have the latest version of your iPhone’s contacts synched with iCloud. To do so, launch the Settings app on your iPhone 5. Scroll down and tap on iCloud. Enter your Apple ID and password and tap Next. Turn On the Contacts service here (if not already turned on by default). If there is a popup asking you to merge your contact data, tap on Merge to sync your contacts with iCloud.
On your laptop, open the browser and go to www.icloud.com. Enter your Apple ID and password here again to login to iCloud. From here, click on Contacts. Select the contacts that you would like to save on your laptop or flash drive. To select all contacts, select the first contact and hold down the Shift-key and select the last contact on the list. Scroll down and click on the Settings button on the bottom right of your screen. From here, click on Export vCard.
Before the export is complete, you will be asked for a save-to location. Choose the location on your computer system where you would like to save the files. Alternatively, if you wish to save contacts to flash drive instead, Plug in your flash drive on any of the USB ports on your laptop. Choose the drive that represents the flash storage. Unplug your flash drive.
