Fix: “Halo Infinite Incompatible Operating System” Error Using these Methods

There is an error message revolving around Halo Infinite that appears when players try to launch the game. Upon doing so, an error message stating “Incompatible operating system” appears which prevents the game from launching. Check Compatibility Mode

The first thing that you should do when you encounter the incompatible operating system error while playing Halo Infinite is to check the properties of the Steam client and the game. As it turns out, Windows has a compatibility mode that allows you to run applications on your computer as they would on older operating systems. While this is a really helpful feature, it can cause some compatibility issues in some cases when the option is enabled. 

Therefore, the first thing that you need to do is check if compatibility is enabled for Halo Infinite or not. In case it is not enabled, you can try enabling it and then see if the issue persists. Install Windows Updates

In case compatibility mode does not fix the problem for you, then you will have to make sure that your operating system is up to date as per the error message by installing Windows updates. As it turns out, Halo Infinite has a minimum requirement of Windows 10 RS5 so the version of your operating system matters a bunch. Once you have downloaded them, install them on your computer and then perform a restart. After your PC boots up, open up Halo Infinite to see if the “incompatible operating system” error message still appears.
