How to Fix VAN 185 Error in VALORANT

VAN 185 is a connection interruption error in VALORANT that typically appears during a match or after several rounds, forcing the game to close with a security message. This error happens when the game client loses its secure connection to Riot’s servers. That connection is maintained by both your network and the Vanguard service.

It is usually caused by unstable network paths, stuck client sessions, or Vanguard failing to refresh its connection in the middle of a match.

• Network instability or faulty router behavior interrupting the secure client server connection.
• Interference from overlays, background applications or driver based tools.
• Corrupted VALORANT files, Vanguard issues or recent unstable driver updates.
