Cory Barlog Teases Next God of War Game

God of War Ragnarök puts an end to the father-son storyline of Kratos and Atreus in Norse Mythology. Still, of course, it is not the end of the God of War franchise, and apparently we have already been teased about the next part of God of War by none other than Cory Barlog himself.

Cory is known for his work in God of War 2018 as the director of the game and contributed in God of War Ragnarök as the producer of the game, recently Cory has also revealed that Santa Monica Studio is working on multiple new games that might or might not be related to the God of War franchise.

While the story of God of War Ragnarök is beautiful, and critics have tagged it as a worthy sequel to God of War 2018, fans are not happy with the way GOW Ragnarök ended; according to a fan on Twitter, the ending of the game felt rushed and left many questions unanswered.

However, in reply to that fan, Cory Barlog said it is good that you felt that way, as some of these questions and mysteries will be unveiled in future games. Cory Barlog said:

It’s cool you don’t like it. no worries. But, in the 2018 game Kratos, Atreus and Freya discuss jormy when riding the gondola before going to Alfheim. She talks about how jormy just appears one day and no one knows why/how. In Ragnarok, we close that loop connecting it to Loki.

But how he got back in time…well…that’s a story for another game.

So there you have it; according to Cory, the next God of War game might (emphasis on might) revolve around the story of Loki. But this was just a tease by him, it could end up being completely wrong, so it would be wise to take this one with a grain of salt.

As he didn’t explicitly mention a potential game about Loki in the God of War franchise. Nevertheless, It will be interesting to see how Santa Monica Studio continues the story of the franchise without Kratos, as most of the fans expected a trilogy after the soft reboot of the franchise in 2018. Aside from that, God of War Ragnarök is now available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

So, what are your thoughts about this? What do you expect next in the God of War series? Let us know in the comment section below.
