How to clear items from “Continue Watching” on Netflix?
You can easily remove movies/series from Netflix Continue Watching row on your smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, and iPads. There is one exception, though. The feature of removing an item directly from the Continue Watching row is only available for the latest Netflix versions. You’ll have to remove that item from the Viewing Activity if you use an older version.

In this article, we will only walk you through the procedures for desktops and smartphones because you can apply the same steps to remove a movie from Continue Watching on your smart TV or iPad. So, let’s delve deep into ‘how’ we can get it done in either case.
For Desktop Netflix App and Browser
Before proceeding, ensure you’re logged in to the profile you desire to remove items from Continue Watching row.
- Once you’re on the Continue Watching row, move your cursor to the item you want to remove.
- Now click the X sign that says Remove from Row.
hover over the movie you want to remove from Continue Watching - On the next screen, select a reason for removing that item.
Select a reason for removing the movie from Continue Watching
That’s it. You’re all done!
For Android/iPhone Netflix App
Removing items from Continue Watching is pretty much the same on smartphones as on desktops. However, we have mentioned the step-by-step process for your convenience as well.
- Select your profile and go to the Continue Watching row.
Go to the Continue Watching row and tap three dots at the bottom - Tap the three dots under the movie/series title you want to remove from the row.
- Select Remove from Row in the menu.
Tap Remove from Row
Confirm your action by tapping OK/Remove.

For Android/iPhone Browser
The above-mentioned methods are applicable when you use Netflix App on your Android/iPhone. When you are streaming Netflix on the browser, you do not see three dots at the bottom of movies in the Continue Watching row. In this scenario, you can proceed with the steps below.
- Log in to your Netflix Account on the browser and tap the hamburger menu/profile icon at the top left/right corner.
Go to the Menu - Tap on Account and select your profile.
Select the Account option - Scroll down to locate Viewing Activity and tap view at the right corner.
Tap view to see viewing history - Hide any item by tapping the circle backslash symbol.
Remove an item by tapping the cancel sign
By hiding a movie/series from the view history, you also remove it from your Continue Watching section within 24 hours. However, once you have deleted an item, there is no way to get it back on your viewing activity or Continue Watching row. So be careful not to delete series or movies you might want to watch again.
