How to Change Scenery in Clash of Clans?
In Clash of Clans, looking at the same village background every day can feel repetitive. To make your village stand out, the game lets you change the scenery. Scenery is the decorative background around your village, and you can replace it with other themes such as seasonal or premium designs. This feature only changes the visual appearance of your base and does not affect gameplay or performance.
New sceneries can be unlocked through special events, Gold Pass seasons, and the in game Shop’s Cosmetics area. Recent updates also improved how scenery offers preview and reappear in the Shop. Switching to a new scenery is simple and only takes a few steps. In this guide, you will learn how to change your scenery in Clash of Clans and the different ways to unlock new ones.
1. Change Scenery from the Town Hall
The fastest way to change scenery is through your Town Hall in the Home Village. This menu shows every scenery you own, lets you preview each one, and apply it right away.
- Open Clash of Clans and go to your Home Village.
- Tap your Town Hall and select Change Sceneries.
Tap your Town Hall and select Change Scenery to switch to any unlocked background in Clash of Clans. - Browse your unlocked sceneries.
- Tap Swap to apply the one you want.
The Change Scenery menu lets you preview and apply unlocked backgrounds like Classic or Jungle Scenery in Clash of Clans.
Tip: You can also enable the Scenery Randomizer from this menu to rotate between selected sceneries each time your village loads.
2. Change Scenery from the Builder Hall
The Builder Base has its own background. You can change it directly from the Builder Hall and keep a different look from your Home Village.
- Switch to your Builder Base.
Tap the boat on the shore to travel to the Builder Base and access the Builder Hall scenery settings. - Tap the Builder Hall and open Change Sceneries.
In the Builder Base, tap your Builder Hall and select Change Scenery to switch backgrounds for your Builder Village. - Pick a scenery from your collection for the Builder Base.
- Press Swap to apply it.
After unlocking a new scenery in the Builder Base, use the Swap button to apply it instantly.
Builder Base sceneries are managed from the Builder Hall interface and are separate from Home Village sceneries.
3. Change Scenery Immediately After Unlocking
When you purchase or unlock a scenery, a preview screen appears with a quick apply option. This lets you switch to the new look without opening any menus.
- Unlock or purchase a scenery from the Shop, Gold Pass, or a special Event.
Sceneries like Crystal Caverns and Of the North can be purchased directly from the Cosmetics section in the Shop. - Wait for the preview pop up to appear.
- Tap Swap now to set it instantly.
You can also pick a scenery for your War Base. Tap your Town Hall while viewing the War Base layout and select Change Scenery to choose the look you want for war.
