Apple’s Waving Figure Says iPhone 16e Comes at a Price “You Can’t Ignore”

Apple released seven video ads for the iPhone 16e on launch day, including six shorts and the main ‘Meet the iPhone‘ ad. The $599 entry price was the main focus, with the ad “playing up” the cost to justify Apple’s pricing.
In the video, an inflatable sky dancer holds up the iPhone 16e, while the camera spotlights its camera system, ability to run Apple’s genAI, and the only text in the ad: ‘at a price you can’t ignore.‘ That last part didn’t sit well with a lot of people.
Some might see this ad as misleading since the entry price for an iPhone has jumped from $429 (iPhone SE) to $599 (iPhone 16e). However, before the iPhone 16e’s release, Apple was already selling the iPhone 14 at the same $599 price.
While the caption may be misinterpreted, it could mean to signal how the value that the iPhone 16e brings to the table is “at a price you can’t ignore.” After all, it does come with almost the same CPU hardware as its $200 pricier counterpart.
