M4 MacBook Air to Launch This Week, Pre-Orders Opening Soon After
Something's in the Air... And It's Probably the M4 MacBook Air.

Apple will release a new “Air” product this week. While not official, it’s highly likely that this will be the M4 MacBook Air.
Tim Cook Gives the Clearest Signal for the M4 MacBook Air Release This Week
Taking to X, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, teased the arrival of a new “Air” product, posting “There’s something in the AIR.” In fact, this is the same tagline from Apple’s 2008 announcement for the release of the first MacBook ever.

The MacBook Air, with the M4 chipset, is expected to come in both 13-inch and 15-inch models, and will sport a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, the same SoC as the more expensive M4 MacBook Pro, as well as the iMac and iPad.
Of course, some features, such as 120Hz ProMotion, active cooling, and Thunderbolt 5 may be limited to the $1,599 Pros, but with Apple’s aggressive pricing strategy, that has earned them a 15% YoY increase in Mac sales ($8.98 billion, up from $7.78 billion), we could be eyeing a $1,099 MSRP for the MacBook Air M4.

M4 MacBook Air Is Expected to Sport 32GB RAM Config, Better External Display Support and Longer Battery
This year, the maximum RAM capacity on the MacBook Air may increase from 24GB to 32GB, potentially setting a new post-Apple Silicon price record for the highest configuration. With the M3 MacBook Air, Apple already doubled the base memory configuration to 16GB.
In addition, 9to5Mac reports that the M4 Air could come with Thunderbolt 4 support, which would allow the Mac to power two external screens while using the built-in display. For reference, last year’s M3 could only power two displays with the lid closed. Moreover, the front camera will also see an upgrade to a 12MP sensor, with support for Center Stage.
Apple could set the price for the M4 MacBook Air to somewhere around last year’s $1,099, but a slightly aggressive approach at $999 isn’t entirely out of the question. Pre-orders are expected to begin immediately after release.
Last year, Apple unveiled the M3 MacBook Air around the very same time, specifically on March 4. But, with rumors in the air, Apple may surprise us with an iPad Air announcement, too. This year, we may see the iPhones get an “Air,” as well, but the idea of an announcement this early is somewhat far-fetched.
This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
