Apple is now using the Wallet app to promote its new F1 movie

Apple has been actively promoting its new F1 movie, and it’s starting to feel like the company is trying to pull all the strings to secure a strong opening weekend, especially with how much money they’ve poured into the project.
Now, they’re even sending out movie promo notifications through the Wallet app.
This weekend, Apple is launching one of its biggest Apple TV+ movie projects in a Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt. However, earlier today, the company went a step further in marketing the film when it pushed an Apple Pay promotional offer via the Apple Wallet app.

The deal is available to customers in the U.S., and it essentially allows you to purchase two movie tickets, via Fandango, at a 10% discount, using the code APPLEPAYTEN.
A lot of users who had received this notification weren’t exactly thrilled with getting offers via their Wallet app. Most saw this as a desperate attempt to secure better box office numbers. This move sparked a lot of criticism and discussions on platforms like Reddit, X, Facebook, and other forums.
It remains to be seen how the movie pans out when it comes to theaters on June 25 in Europe and June 27 in the U.S. and Canada. This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
