Apple’s Foldable iPhone to Enter Production Soon, Launch Imminent in 2026

Apple is nearing the final stages of choosing suppliers for materials and components for its highly anticipated iPhone Fold. The company aims to enter the foldable phone market next year and is now finalizing partnerships with suppliers to ensure production kicks off smoothly.

According to industry sources, Apple plans to lock in its supply chain by the second half of this year, aligning with its usual strategy of securing manufacturing partners about a year before a product launch. This timeline suggests the iPhone Fold could enter mass production well ahead of its expected debut.

Earlier reports indicate that Samsung will likely supply the foldable OLED displays for the device. Apple is reportedly working closely with Samsung to minimize the visible crease on the inner screen—a common challenge with foldable phones—by setting stricter quality standards for the panels.

Renowned Apple analyst Mark Gurman recently shared updates in his Power On newsletter:

[Apple is] preparing a slimmer iPhone model for late this year while finalizing its first foldable device for 2026. The company is also developing another new iPhone design slated for the same year.

Among key suppliers, Amphenol—a U.S.-based company—is rumored to provide the hinge mechanism, a critical component for foldable devices. Amphenol has prior experience working with Apple on MacBook Pro hinges, which could give them an edge in meeting the iPhone Fold’s durability requirements. If current leaks and timelines hold, Apple’s first foldable phone could arrive in late 2026.

While details remain limited, we’ll continue tracking updates and share new information as it emerges. Stay tuned!
