Apple’s A17 Bionic Prototype Benchmarks Leaks Online With Surprising Performance Gains

[UPDATE]: Max Tech has has provided an update on the A17 Bionic results saying that they should be taken with a grain of salt since they might be fabricated.

A17 Bionic is expected to be one of the greatest SoC made by Apple. While we predicted that Apple would prioritize battery life above raw performance, the first performance stats of the A17 Bionic prototype have clearly startled everyone.

Max Tech posted the single-core and multi-core scores to YouTube, alleging that they were first posted by an account named “Sugunan” on Twitter. The numbers, as the YouTuber sees it, are legitimate and demonstrate Apple’s finest efforts to date in developing the most powerful SoC seen in a mobile device.

Our earlier report indicated that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the only devices equipped with the commercial version of the A17 Bionic, which means that users would have Apple shell out extra cash. Getting to the numbers now, the single-core and multi-core scores for the A17 Bionic prototype are 3,986 and 8,841, respectively.

The A17 Bionic, as far as we can tell, will include a 6-core CPU, of which two will be performance cores and four will be dedicated to power efficiency. Whilst we don’t know for sure, we speculate that it has five GPU cores, giving it once again unmatched performance compared to rivals.
