Intel i9-13900KS Slated to Launch On 12 January 2023, 15% Faster Than The Ryzen 9 7950X

The Intel i9-13900KS is Intel’s latest addition to its Raptor Lake arsenal. This CPU was expected to be announced/launched during CES, but now we have a confirmed date. In addition, the initial test results put the i9-13900KS almost 15% faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X

Performance

Twitter user chi11eddog has shared some benchmarks for the Intel i9-13900KS. It is important to note that this leaker made some revelations regarding the RL Non-K SKUs a few days past. Either way, the i9-13900KS scores 2366 points and 40998 points in the single and multi-core test respectively when tested with Cinebench R23.

When compared against other CPUs, the i9-13900KS is almost 15% faster than the 7950X in single-core performance. In addition, the 7950X loses once again in the multi-core test as Intel’s 13900KS shows off its power.

A previous test in CPU-Z showed a massive 30% uplift in performance over the 7950X. When unveiling Raptor Lake, Intel did mention a 6GHz out-of-the-box CPU which will arrive next year. HXL claims that the 13900KS can hit 5.6GHz and 4.3GHz across the P and E cores respectively (All Core frequency). Across a single core, the 13900KS will surpass the 6GHz mark, which is quite impressive.

The i9-13900KS will ship with 24 cores / 32 threads with frequencies much higher than 6.0GHz with a capable motherboard. Packed with 68MB of cache (36MB of L3 + 32MB of L2), this CPU is almost on par with AMD’s 7950X (80MB) in terms of cache. The power consumption will be 150W as a base TDP. We expect this CPU to cost around $750.
