Exclusive: Vivo Y16 Renders and Full Specs Sheet leaked!

Vivo will soon launch a budget entry-level smartphone under the Y Series, the Vivo Y16. The device will be a successor of Vivo Y15a which launched in November 2021.

Vivo Y16 has already been spotted on Federal Communications Commission (FCC), IMEI database and Geekbench benchmark. The multiple listings indicate an imminent launch of the phone. The device has also appeared on Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), confirming its India debut.

Today I (Sudhanshu Ambhore) bring you first renders of the phone and complete specifications of the Vivo Y16. Let’s take a look at them!

Vivo Y16 will use a V-shaped water-drop notch display. The IPS LCD panel will measure 6.51-inches and will come with HD+ (1600 × 720 pixels) resolution. The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor. It is an octa-core chipset clocked 2300 MHz and is manufactured using 12mn process technology. The processor features an integrated PowerVR GE8320 GPU which clocks up to 680 MHz. The device will be available in 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM configurations and Black and Gold color options.

For photography, the Vivo Y16 will use a dual-camera setup on rear with flash and a single camera on front. There will be a 13MP main lens (f/2.2) accompanied with 2MP (f/2.4) lens for Depth or Macro shots. The notch will house a 5MP (f/2.2) shooter for selfies and video calls. Photography modes include Panorama, Face Beauty, Photo, Video, Live Photo, Time-Lapse, Pro and Documents.

Vivo Y16 will boot Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12. Further the handset will have performance features like Extended RAM 2.0, Multi Turbo 5.5 and Ultra Game Mode. A 5000mAh lithium-ion battery will keep the phone alive. For security the device will get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In terms of dimensions, the handset will measure 163.95mm × 75.55mm × 8.19mm and 183 grams in weight. The device will feature a 2.5D Curvature, Metal Flat Frame and Plastic back panel. Connectivity options include support for USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, OTG and FM. Further the handset will support 2 Nano SIMs + 1 microSD. Sensor list includes Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Proximity Sensor, E-compass and Virtual gyroscope.
