How to Fix the “Chat Room Not Connected” Issue in Valorant?
Valorant’s “Chat Room Not Connected” error message usually appears due to network problems. It is displayed during gameplay, often when a player tries to access the chat room. Server-side problems can also cause this error.
Patch days and server maintenance can lead to unexpected issues, resulting in such errors. Additional causes include region-specific server problems, background applications interfering with the game, and corrupted game files.
1. Check Server Status
Check for any server maintenance or ongoing problems with the game.
- Run your web browser.
- Visit the Riot Games server status for Valorant.
- Select your regional server from the drop-down menu and click the Continue button.
- You will be able to see any ongoing maintenance or updates.
- Locate the status of your particular error.
- Find any official guidelines for resolving your issue.
2. Flush DNS
The DNS (Domain Name System) translates domain names into IP addresses. It stores this information for quick processing without needing to establish a fresh connection each time. This data can become corrupted or outdated. Deleting the DNS cache clears any configurations it had stored previously. This allows you to send a new request to find the game server’s IP address.
- In the Windows search box, type “Command Prompt”.
- Click the Run as administrator button.
- Type the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns
- Press the Enter key.
- You will receive a confirmation message upon completion.
- Close the window.
3. Re-Log Into Your Riot Client
Signing out and back into your Riot Client resets the user session. It establishes a new session with revised data and connections. This step helps erase faulty data and fixes bugs and errors causing the issues.
- Type “Riot Client” in your Windows search box.
- Click the Open button.
- Tap on the Profile icon.
- Select the SIGN OUT option.
- A login window will appear.
- Enter your details and click the Next button.
4. Repair Game Files
Game files can become corrupted, missing, or outdated over time, leading to errors in the game. Repairing these files involves comparing all files from your local storage with those available on the game’s server. Files are fixed or replaced if necessary.
- Search for “Riot Client” in the Windows search box.
- Select the Open button.
- Click on the Profile icon from the Riot Client’s dashboard.
- Choose the Settings option.
- Tap on the Valorant tab in the settings menu.
- Press the Repair button.
- If files require repairing, the process will start.
If the error persists, try submitting a ticket to Valorant’s contact support.
