Galaxy S24 Plus to Get the Same M13 OLED 2K Screen and Narrow 1.5mm Bezels as S24 Ultra
Samsung’s display-making unit, Samsung Display, has long been a pioneer in OLED display technologies, manufacturing screens not only for its own lineup of smartphones but also for its competitors, Apple and Google.
Earlier this month, we reported on how the Google Pixel 8 series were the first set of phones to feature Samsung’s new E7 panels, made with M13 OLED materials. The M13 OLED serves as the successor to the M12 used in Z Fold 5 and iPhone 14 Pros.
The Brighter M13 OLED Screens Are Also Coming to the S24+, Not Just Ultra
It was reported earlier this year that the upcoming S24 Ultra will feature the brighter M13 OLED screen, however according to industry insider, @UniverseIce, the S24+ might also receive the M13 2K OLED screen treatment.
The Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays on the S24 series are likely to be brighter than the 1750 nits found on the S23 Ultra, potentially reaching up to 2500 nits. The M13 currently stands as the most advanced OLED screen in the industry, with upgrades not confined solely to brightness but also extending to improvements in image quality.
Samsung S24 Ultra to Feature 1.5mm Bezels, Thinnest of Any Smartphone
The S24 Ultra will apparently feature the thinnest bezels on any smartphone on the market right now. What makes it even more intriguing is the fact that, for the first time, Samsung will be introducing uniform bezel sizes all around the device. Its predecessor, the S23 Ultra, sported three different bezel sizes—2.7mm on the top, 2.2mm on the sides, and a huge 3.2mm chin.
The S24+ will allegedly have 1.5mm bezels on all sides, which is a great upgrade over any smartphone available right now. For context, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which set the standard at launch, featured 1.75mm bezels on all sides and boasted an impressive 89.8% screen-to-body ratio.
On the other hand, Xiaomi recently launched its latest 14 series of smartphones, with the Xiaomi 14 taking the lead with even slimmer 1.61mm side bezels. While its chin is slightly larger, measuring in at 1.71mm, it still manages to outperform the iPhone 15 Pro Max by being 2% thinner in this aspect.
The S24 Ultra, with 1.5mm bezels, will undoubtedly top the list for the best screen-to-body ratios. Not only that, but it will also offer a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the S23 Ultra.
