How to Remove Match Score from iPhone Dynamic Island
When using your iPhone, you may sometimes notice a match score or an upcoming match timer appear on the Dynamic Island, staying visible even after closing the Google app. These small overlays are called Live Activities. The Google app uses them to display real-time updates on both the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen. While this feature is useful when following a game or event, it can become distracting if you no longer need the information.

The good news is that this isn’t a bug or a malfunction. It’s simply a feature that you can control at any time. Below are the best ways to stop these live updates, either permanently or temporarily, based on your preference.
Step 1: Turn Off Live Activities in iPhone Settings
To completely stop Google’s live updates, disable its permission for Live Activities through the iPhone’s app settings. Once this option is off, Google will no longer display real-time scores or updates on your Dynamic Island or Lock Screen.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

- Scroll down the list and tap Google.

- Tap Live Activities.

- Turn off Allow Live Activities.

You can repeat these steps for any other app that shows unwanted Live Activities.
Step 2: Turn Off Notifications from the Google App
Another effective way to prevent these updates is by changing Google’s internal notification settings. This disables the notifications that trigger live match updates, greatly reducing or stopping new Live Activities from appearing on your Dynamic Island or Lock Screen. If updates still show up, turn off Sports notifications under the same menu.
- Open the Google app.

- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.

- Go to Settings.

- Select Notifications.

- Tap Your topics.

- Remove or disable the topics you no longer want to receive live updates for.
Step 3: Swipe Away the Dynamic Island Update
If you only want to hide a currently active Live Activity, you can dismiss it manually without disabling the feature entirely. This removes the ongoing update from your screen while still allowing future ones to appear when needed.
- Long-press the Dynamic Island to expand the Live Activity, then swipe up to dismiss it. Some activities may also respond to a left or right swipe depending on the app.
