Upcoming Redmi K60 Specifications Revaled, Could Feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Chip

Redmi K series phones have been well known for offering great hardware at an affordable price. The Redmi K50 which released earlier this year featured the Snapdragon 870 SoC, starting at only $400.

Now Xiaomi is preparing to release the next Redmi K series iteration, the Redmi K60. A recent leak, discovered by Twitter user, No Name, even reveals the specifications of the upcoming phone.

According to the leak, the Redmi K60 might feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. As for the display, it could feature a 6.67-inch 2K OLED panel. There will also be 67W fast charging support, paired with a 5,500mAh battery.

Previous iterations of the Redmi K series phones featured different SoCs for different regions. For example the Redmi K50 also featured the Dimensity 8100 SoC alongside the Snapdragon 870. The Snapdragon SoC was mainly limited to the western markets. Likewise, the upcoming Redmi K60 could feature a flagship Dimensity SoC in some regions.

There isn’t a lot of information on the cameras but the leak does mention a triple camera setup with 64+8+8MP lens, also along with a 16MP front cam. There’s also no concrete information on the actual sensors used, but a previous leak from DCS revealed, the Redmi K60 could feature the Sony IMX686 as the primary sensor.

In the new leak, DCS has claimed that the Redmi K60 models will have an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel main camera, which appears to be the Sony IMX686 lens. Another model in the lineup will have an OIS-assisted 64-megapixel primary camera, which could be the Sony IMX766 sensor.

As for a release date, there’s no information yet, but the phone did get certified recently by the 3C Authority of China. This likely means Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Redmi K60 sometime later this year or by early next year. There’s also no information on pricing yet, but you can expect the launch price to be around the $550 mark.
